A bouquet of handmade swirl lollipops in indigo, violet and gold galaxy swirls in a wooden stand

Handmade in Minneapolis · Small batches · Since 2019

Candy with a twist you won't find on the ordinary shelf.

Whimwhirl makes lollipops and confections the slow way — poured, pulled and painted by hand, in flavors that make you stop and ask, "what is that?"

A candy shop for the curious

We make sweets you can't grab at the grocery store.

Whimwhirl started with one copper pot, one stubborn idea, and a lot of failed batches. We cook in small batches — usually forty to eighty pieces at a time — so every swirl, spiral and ribbon gets the attention it deserves.

Our flavors come from the same place our colors do: curiosity. Mango and passionfruit with a hint of basil. Rosewater and cardamom. Honeycomb with smoked sea salt. Nothing here is an accident, and nothing here is mass-produced.

If you like your candy a little strange, a little beautiful, and completely hand-made, you're in the right place.

Six things we make this month

Our core lineup rotates slowly. Seasonal experiments come and go — the classics stick around because people keep asking for them by name.

The one we get asked about most

Can you guess the flavor at first bite?

The Guessing Game is our favorite stunt. The outside is a bright, cheerful swirl. Hidden inside, a ribbon of a different flavor curls through the middle — and it changes as you eat your way through.

We change the secret combination with every batch. We'll tell you what was inside after you guess — or after you give up. It's a conversation, not a quiz, and nobody keeps score.

How a Whimwhirl pop is made

Copper pan of golden syrup cooking on a gas flame with a candy thermometer

1 · By the degree

Sugar is cooked in copper pans and judged by feel and thermometer, not by a timer on a factory line.

Hands twirling and pulling a colorful sugar lollipop on a wooden table

2 · Hands, not machines

Every spiral is pulled and twisted by hand on a wooden hook. That's why no two swirls look identical.

3 · The rest is part of it

Candies rest for days, get wrapped by hand, and get numbered by batch. Patience is an ingredient.
